Why salons lose their best evenings to no-shows — and what fixes it
The 7 pm slot is the one that gets cancelled. Here's what the data says about who doesn't turn up and the three policies that change it.

Ask any salon owner which appointment gets cancelled and they'll tell you: the late one, on the busy day, booked by someone new. The pattern is so consistent it's predictable — and if it's predictable, it's preventable.
Across pilot salons, no-show rates were highest for bookings made more than seven days in advance by first-time customers, for services over ninety minutes, after 6 pm. Each factor roughly doubles the risk of the one before it.
Three policies move the number. A reminder the morning of, with a one-tap confirm, catches the forgetful. A deposit on high-risk bookings catches the casual. And a waitlist that backfills cancelled slots within minutes makes the ones that still happen cost nothing.
